THE search for a missing 12-year-old boy is centering on Victoria and South Australia.

Benjamin Drew Jones was last seen on February 10, 2010 and is believed to be with his father, Andrew.

Federal Police have visited Mr Jones at his home in Christies Beach, South Australia, where he refused to divulge Ben's whereabouts.

Solicitors acting on behalf of the mother, who declined to comment or be named, said it was likely Ben was in South Australia, but may have been taken to Victoria, where his father has relatives.

"We have reason to believe that Ben is most likely in South Australia, because he sent his mother a birthday card yesterday, which was sent from South Australia," the lawyers, who declined to be named, said.

Ben has dark blonde hair, blue-grey eyes, is 153cm and of a thin build, weighing 40kg.

Mr Jones is 40, with dark blonde, thinning hair, grey eyes, fair complexion, 168cm and about 80kg.

He lives in suburban Adelaide and drives a silver Holden SS commodore sedan with a South Australian licence plate XNA007.
