A MAN indecently exposed himself to two young girls and then assaulted one of them before fleeing on a bicycle.
Police say a woman and her three daughters arrived at a school in East Lindfield, in Sydney's north, about 10.30am (AEDT) on Friday.
The mother and her three-year-old briefly lost sight of the two other girls, aged four and eight.
A man approached the older girls, exposed himself and then followed the eight-year-old when she ran away.
He grabbed her briefly and then left the area on a BMX bicycle.
The family returned home and reported the incident to police, who conducted a patrol of the area.
The man was described as being of white/European appearance, aged in his early 20s, with a thin build and short brown hair.
At the time of the attack he was wearing a mustard-coloured T-shirt and pants, and a mustard-coloured bike helmet.
