A SEX offender who posed as a 12-year-old boy to enrol in schools in Arizona was sentenced to 70 years and six months in jail.
The Huffington Post reports 31-year-old Neil Havens Rodreick II pleaded guilty last year to seven criminal charges, including child pornography. By wearing makeup to help him look younger, he convinced teachers, students and administrators at several schools that he was a boy named Casey.
Rodreick attended schools in Arizona starting in 2005.
He was caught in January 2007 after spending a day in 7th grade. School officials became suspicious of his birth certificate and other documents which looked forged.
No victims of sexual abuse were found at the schools he attended, but an extensive child pornography collection was found at his home.
County Superior Court Judge Thomas Lindberg said he found Rodreick's conduct deceitful and appalling.
Three other men were arrested with Rodreick: Brian J. Nellis, 36, who was posing as his cousin; Robert James Snow, 46, posing as his uncle; and Lonnie Eugene Stiffler, 63, posing as his grandfather.
Stiffler was sentenced to 14 years in jail on charges including child pornography and forgery, while Snow was sentenced to 22 years in jail. Nellis was sentenced last month to 51 years in jail.
Before coming to Arizona, Rodreick was convicted in Oklahoma of lewdly propositioning a 6-year-old boy in 1996. He served about six years in prison, the Associated Press reported.
