Today Tonight - Australian farm crisis

Text of Story:

Listen to MP3 of Bob Katter: Bob Katter

Without Australian farmers what will become of safe and pristine quality food homegrown in Australia?

Will Australia go hungry and starve, especially those in need? Australians on low incomes, our kids, the elederly and those who can't fend for themselves?

Perhaps not even the rich will be able to buy Australian food as it simply won't be available.

What of the food quality from overseas, now and in the future? Will it be safe, nutritious with important minerals and what if food is stopped from coming?

Have your politicians sold you out and have no power over corporates and the big money players worldwide? It's now and always been up to the people to make things right!

Answer:

Boycott overseas food that can be produced in Australia and supermarkets that sell it, making it absolutely clear to these supermarket traitors that they won't be in business if they don't support Australian farmers & Australians!

Keep in mind that Coles & Woolworths are mostly foreign owned anyway, so they don't much care and won't do anything until their share price goes down.

People in Australia need to wake up & get mobilised!

If we cant grow it in Aust we import it to give us choice like garlic from Mexico, walnuts from USA & asparagus from Peru. Thats fair trading and common sense. In contrast having food imported when it can be grown locally makes no sense at all & is not fair trading for our aussie farmers or our citizens. Clearly other agendas are at play which we should be made aware of. What other countries neglect their local produce, industry and economy in favour of imported foreign produce even with import tax revenue to the relevant govt? Somethin smells very fishy lads!

Whos NRMA...sounds like a dictator bunch with nasty fines.
food is vital already under threat wit GM crops and minimal minerals. We dont need to import more food peoples cos the resistance in other countries is less than Oz and quality will be less. is this wot we want

Many things aren't right in society and it is the role of fathers to remedy these ills as often they interconnect with the family and our children. How governments function is a reflection of how the people act.

History has shown we are lucky to get 30 people at a protest for father's issues as men and fathers are too busy doing something better for themselves, ie. enjoying their work and money, buying a new car, off with women, off to sport, indulging in life's pleasures with many fathers not giving a tinkers cuss about their kids, other kids or fathers/people or social policy that impacts upon families often causing the separation in the first place.

Mother's aren't the problem or the system, it's the apathy of men and fathers unwilling to unite together and put their fear and pleasures aside, turning a once of protest of 30 people into regular marches of 500+ people for any wrong that is being done to people.

What F4Joz needs is a page where people can pledge their willingness to protest when needed. Alternatively, one can't blame those that are currently steering government their way.

Thanks Keith for your comments and opinion, Fathers 4 Justice welcomes them as we do everyones.

The Today Tonight(TT) article and footage is on the farming crisis with further words from Bob Katter in a radio interview (mp3) relevant to the story and more. He has knowledge of the farming crisis debate and also a party at the next election.

Thank you re polis, article has been amended.

We are sorry to hear you are hurting Keith and suffering re your children and family breakdown, we can truly relate to your pain as we hear it almost every day. The only hope you can rely on is faith and in your your own ability to do what you believe is right for you. It's not an easy path for anyone to grapple with loss, grief, abandonment, change, power imbalances and who we are, what we're not and what we are really here for, just to name a few.

All articles and comments come from people where there is no right or wrong, just what people are experiencing at that time. Hopefully it's an opportunity for us all to learn and remember who we are are and what we are not.

Hopefully we become more peaceful and loving through becoming wiser, stronger and more united. Whilst the path is difficult, no doubt about it, we must never give up!

Family breakdown is a difficult area affecting everyone in different ways. However, the destruction of the family unit is only one piece of the puzzle and only part of bigger picture in society. It is for this reason F4J canvasses all areas of justice.

Fathers 4 Justice is far bigger than the little Family Court - it's unconstitutional form and anti-family agendas - we are Fathers and all good people that stand for what is fair and just! We are all powerful, we just have to remember this and use our power for good, not abuse.

Sometimes as individuals we may lose a battle but as a collective we will win the war waged upon humanity through conquering our own inner demons.

As Gandhi put it, we must first become the change we want to see in the world.

Thanks again Keith for your comments, they are duly noted. We all do our best at F4J, however we can all do better I'm sure. If you have troubles with your family situation and require support please let us all know. Keep well Keith - we are all thinking of you.

To the editor of the Fathers for Justice website.

The article makes several claims yet fails to name names such as the names of the politicians who supposedly have sold us out and the names of the corporations they sold us out to, when it occurred and for what amount of money. For Fathers for Justice to be relevant for hurting fathers such as myself, I want to see articles giving me hope such as good news stories of other fathers who had successes in their battle for better access to their children and articles on how to fight these battles against their spouses. Fathers for Justice website is not the place for the article as posted above.

There is a mass family breakdown and suicide rate amongst farming families too.
