Child Support — What does it all mean?
[+Add your comment]

Who wants to be dictated to by the State on how you support your children — what, how and when?

Whilst many views float around arguing for and against child support, most decent fathers and parents would argue the issue is not whether or not they wish to support their children, but rather the often unfair conditions imposed upon them.

Simply, it's an attack on the nature of a father's freedom and how he best wishes to raise and support his children in the many different ways a responsible father can, which are often more effective and benefical to a child than any 'slap-bang' instrument of government and statism can ever be.

For a father going through separation/divorce, experiencing the loss of family and children, horrendous false allegations, litigation, uncertainty of where your children are and how they are doing, often causes ill health, work and life instability in so many ways. Also, the effects from not having a fully functioning and emotionally present Dad in a child's life can be equally, if not more devestating as their development can be hindered considerably.

Then if that isn't bad enough, along comes an assessment from the Child Support Agency (CSA) for an outlandish sum of money based on your capacity to work at the highest rate when you were fit and able and on fire, which is possibly a stark contrast to where your financial position is today, or will be in the future if you are unable to recover from the upheaval of a traumatic separation that's often compared to a fate worse than death.

From 2006 CSA powers in Australia have increased to not only garnish your wages, but directly withdraw from bank accounts any amount they deem appropriate, siezing assets of any sort to pay the often highly questionable and unjust debts. As Fathers are assaulted with such draconian measures, one can only feel a sense of dictatorship giving rise to a totalitarian society — not a free Australia — causing fathers to unite and fight for their rights and freedom.

As there are many issues surrounding child support and the effects upon fathers, children and families,

Share your opinion and experiences about the pros and cons of child support,
lifting the veil on a most horrid part of family breakup!

10 yrs ago I was the one looking after the kids.
Whilst my ex was working working living the good life and a CSA assessment said she had to pay, she never did nor was forced to.

Yet male friends of mine barely had a crumpet to live on and from about 2006 the CSA withdrew money direct from their bank accounts.

    Unbloody believable!!

Do these type of double standards still exist today?

I am just beginning to learn about my rights so by no means is this response well written however if we read the csa acts in relation to human rights many things the csa do are unlawful.

I for one have had enough and am seeking ways to hold these people accountable, they state they are not liable however legal dictionaries and human rights state otherwise.

All acts must be read subject to our government supported human rights.

I have no issue paying child support, although when the other party doesn't declare and I'm forced to pay twice and then the csa refuse to send a bill, I have to wonder what's going on!

If no bill is issued how am I to pay?

Whatever the csa is up to it is unlawful as no bill is being issued.
I have a decision (hence this objection) though a decision is not a bill.

Note: please Youtube Robert Arthur Mernard for information regarding your rights and excuse the spelling (I have very little time to deal with these wankers) and and crumbs stuck in keyboard preventing some keys working lol.

Also check out my Notice of Objection to the CSA.

Experts warn new partners of divorced parents will also be hit by benefits changes, even if the children are not theirs.

This may be of interest here. They still try to 'criminalise' me here in the UK too!

I got a letter from CSA to pay $67,167.37 in child support. I have not seen my children Tanja now 15 and Sandra now 12 years for 5 years and don't know in which country they are living. I tried to get in Germany (where we came from)an information thru a lawyer (my brother) but since 3 years no answer. We came over from germany on 2/01/2004 lived together here and seperated here in 2005. On 19/05/2006 I wanted to pick up my children to an arranged weekend, but the house was empty and the dog was gone. I did not get any information from the atorny general about them and 2 month later a email from my ex that she had to leave the country. I knew about the hague convention but did not insist to get my kids flewn to Australia again. My ex and me got divorced in Germany and shortly after I could not even send emails to my children anymore. Since 2009 I have no information about the whereabout of my children. Now I am facing to pay $67k on the 07/08/2011 (or $1020.58 per month)and don\'t even know if my children are still alive. I am in contact with a lawyer here in Perth and my collegue at work (from Scotland) told me about you. I would apreciate any help.

Only through the availability of information will fathers become aware of the many difficulties surrounding Child Support. By having a greater understanding of the problems, we are all in a better position to find a solution.
